Scenting the Sale

Realtors have for years paid mindful attention to the scent of the homes they are listing as there is no bigger turnoff to a potential buyer than the smell of smoke, animals or must. Traditionally, gimmicks such as baking cookies or pie have been deployed but new research has shown these scents can be overwhelming and may even serve as a distraction to the home-buying process.

New research states the best way to scent a space for a potential sale is by introducing a clean and subtle scent. The best scents for scenting for a sale are citrus, green tea, cedar and pine.
