Citrus, the note like no other   The citrus notes wear many different hats in the scenting industry as a fragrance, it has been used in a lot of essential oils, cleaning products, and perfumes. The depth and complexity of the fragrance have many variations that contribute to its powerful crisp and clean scent, with a wide range of different olfactory notes. The fragrance is characterized by its zesty and fresh notes that are primarily best for the spring and summer seasons. The obvious fruits known in most scents are sweet orange as well as bergamot, lemons, and grapefruit. You can instantly smell the vibrant and enchanting blend of the citrus scent as a top note when you diffuse.    The Citrus olfactory family   Citrus is representative of a uniquely large family of highly volatile scents. The very first appearance of the citrus fragrance was as early as 1370, with a perfume called “Queen of Hungary Waters.” It was first created for Queen Elizabeth I of Hungary and is believed to have contained notes of rosemary, sage, cedar, and bergamot. What is interesting about this fragrance was that it was the first alcohol-based perfume in all of Europe and is considered the first modern perfume ever produced. Bergamot is known to be a perfumer’s favorite note and is commonly used in the citrus family, being a hybrid of lemon and bitter orange. Most citrus notes are paired with spicy, woody, and floral notes. Some other main distinctive fruits used are clementine, yuzu, citron, and verbena, that are all dynamic notes.    Fun Fact: The oldest perfume is still in production, which dates back to 1533 and is called “Acqua di Colonia,” with its main note being citrus.    What is so great about Citrus?  Besides being the vibrant top note, the citrus note illuminates any scent and brings out its freshness. The congruence connection we didn’t know about The compatibility between scenting and music is a connection that not a lot of people may realize the impact that they both have on our emotions especially when used by businesses to encourage the buying behavior of consumers. Music is typically used to boost your mood while scenting is also used to improve your mood through the olfactory nerve, when you put both together it creates a multi-sensory experience that will be embedded in your mind as connection between a song and a scent. The combination of matching scents with music is a natural cross-modal that hasn’t been explored as much but does play a significant role in changing the mood of people instantly, have you ever realized how much happier you are when you listen to your favorite song while diffusing one of your favorite candles, both senses are twice as heightened when experienced together to resonate with you, leaving an effect to reminisce when you hear the song or smell the fragrance again. In the very beginning when the company first started brainstorming the names for our scenting oils we instantly know we wanted to paired each scent to a name of a song. As we were exploring the scent notes we felt some songs would be a cross-modal correspondence together, creating the perfect multi-sensory experience that will remind you of scent whenever you heard the song. We also wanted to find a way to stand out and using popular song titles is what stuck with us. Our very first song /scent combination was Dream On by Aerosmith, just like the song, our scenting oil is meant to have you in a serene, heavenly mood when you use our diffuser. Perfect song choice, right? Another one of our favorite song/scent combos is My Way by Frank Sinatra. My Way is an exquisite blend of sandalwood and smooth Tuscan leather that creates the most sophisticated and timeless fragrance ever, as well as an aromatic ambience. When you play the song you will feel such a nostalgic feel,  and just like the song it is a true classic. (Fun fact: is Frank Sinatra is our CEO's favorite artist of all time.) While naming scents, we put a great deal of time and effort to make sure the scents fit the song and vice versa. We wanted to match the scent notes to the musical notes as well, we believe that scenting and music both have a strong bond together and what to give our customers the best scenting experience possible. Plus, it is easy for our customers to remember their favorite scent by the name of the songs. We do plan on creating more Spotify playlists by each of our scent collection so you can play and scent whenever you are in the mood. Lavender is one of the top-known scents that have been used in many fragrances and oils, as a middle note the sweet and delicate scent is smelled instantly. It is a flowering plant in the mint and floral family with herbal and balsamic undertones, a genus of close to 50 known species. Besides being known for its scent, it is also identified by its color which is a light shade of purple that has been used as a color term since 1705. The lavender plant even traces back to ancient Egypt used as a bath additive, perfume, and freshening up. Since then, its therapeutic value has been used in oils, topical uses, and herbal tea.   Modern scientific findings  Much research and studies have been done in recent years on the wide range of benefits associated with the lavender plant. Lavender can be used to improve skin health, and mood disorders and boost sleep; potent with antimicrobial, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. Count on us to know the importance of a wick trimmer  A wick trimmer is a scissor-like tool that clips the excess ashy “mushroom” wick or carbon built-up. It is the first step to ensuring the best possible scenting experience for any candle. The wick trimmer features a plate cutter with a raised edged to capture the burnt trim wick or used to keep the wick trimmed when you want to burn your candle. We recommend that when you receive your candle, trim the wick down about ¼ inches in length before you light it and each time after that. Trimming it to this length will establish a clean and safe burn.   Finding the right tool for trimming your wick  Some people might use any pair of scissors to get the job done or even their hand, which we highly suggest against. Both methods are the wrong way to properly care for your candles and can cause even more mess or damage. As the candle continues to burn down, it becomes almost impossible to reach with the blade of any scissors and can be too far down to do an adequate job of trimming the wick. This is why it is important to have a special tool like the Aroma360 Wick Trimmer as your go-to for this purpose specifically, plus it shows your guest how much of a candle connoisseur you are.   Make a clean burn  There is a visible difference between a trimmed wick and an untrimmed wick when burning candles.
